Seeds of Joy Menu

A Menu for a Delicious Life

Yesterday evening, I cooked green beans with beef and seasoned the dish at each stage of the process. That’s something I learned from a cooking show: flavor develops best when it’s added thoughtfully along the way. The meal turned out delicious.

As I reflected on that experience, I thought about the philosophical concept of planting seeds of joy. In many ways, those seeds are like spices in a well-cooked meal. Small acts of kindness, gratitude, curiosity, and connection add flavor to life when sprinkled in consistently over time.

Take a look at the Seeds of Joy menu and choose what appeals to you. What can we enjoy right now, and what might we plant today to harvest later?

Find something that makes you think “yes”

This menu brings together ideas from my essays and many more possibilities for you to explore. Browse the parts that interest you. Mark anything that appeals, skip what does not, and add your own.

The timing is flexible. A swim might happen today or on a future trip. Choose according to your interests, energy, access, and budget. Many ideas are free or can be scaled down.

You only need one seed to begin.
